Benalmádena with kids

The plans that genuinely work with little ones, sorted by distance from Torremuelle. Villa VR7 welcomes children, and a cot and high chair are available.

Selwo Marina — dolphins and penguins (10 min)

In Parque de la Paloma, in Arroyo de la Miel. Dolphin and sea lion shows plus an Antarctic penguinarium that kids adore. Combine it with Parque de la Paloma itself: a huge, free park with rabbits and hens roaming loose, a lake and play areas — a perfect afternoon that doesn't cost a euro.

Benalmádena Cable Car — dizzying views (9 min)

Cabins climb to the summit of Mount Calamorro (almost 800 m), with views over the whole coast and birds-of-prey displays at the top. On clear days you can see Gibraltar and the African coastline. Avoid very windy days: it may close.

Colomares Castle — the fairytale castle (9 min)

The world's largest monument to Columbus looks straight out of a storybook and is a goldmine for photos. It's a short visit (around an hour), ideal on the way to another plan.

Benalmádena Butterfly Park (10 min)

A Thai-style temple filled with exotic butterflies flying free all around you. Short, magical and under cover: the perfect plan if a cloudy day rolls in.

Bioparc Fuengirola (15 min by train)

One of Europe's best immersion zoos: gorillas, tigers, crocodiles and a recreated Madagascar without the traditional cages. Easy to reach on the C1 to Fuengirola followed by a short walk.

Water parks: Aqualand and Aquamijas

Aqualand Torremolinos (15 min) is the big one, with slides for all ages; Aquamijas (12 min) is easier to manage with small children. Both open during the summer season.

The secret plan: the train itself

For plenty of little ones, riding the train is the adventure. The C1 line passes every 20 minutes right by the villa and whisks them to Fuengirola or Málaga with the coast rolling past the window. And when you get back: a warm pool and jacuzzi waiting at home.
